Eye of the Storm

This is a sketch I worked on when I felt a need to draw but could think of nothing so I thought why not just work on my strengths. I have a strange obsession with eyes...I've no idea why, but whenever I get the chance, or I happen to have a pen in my hand, I will begin drawing eyes...not both, just the left one (I struggle to draw the right).
I just feel that there's a lot of expression in them. I can draw an entire face perfectly but I'm not happy with it unless the eyes are spot on.
I'm happy with how this one is turning out...I stopped half way through working on it, as I didn't want to spoil it, but i think i'll be returning to this in the future. Not sure why I chose that title...it just popped into my head

As I believe I've already mentioned on this site, I plan on creating a proper website with my works, until then and until I actually start putting work up on here, I ask people to go over to http://elforia.deviantart.com/....my own page on deviantart.com which contains most my works, some which I'm not too proud of, others I'm intensly proud of!

First time for everything

As I've just started this blog I don't actually have anything to add to it, so it's obviously looking a bit plain. When I get the chance, I'll start uploading stuff.

However, after I saved the first version of this I realised the page looked very....blah, so I thought I'd brighten it up with one of my most treasured pieces.
I'm my biggest critic...I spend hours working on images until I'm completely happy and even then i'm always looked at the piece to see what can be improved. This is the first picture I've ever done that I'm extremely happy with.
For those of you who can't work out who it is, it's Alicia Keys...I used a magazine photo as reference
